David Richards

I am an on-task person who will spend (too much) time completing a project. I enjoy the visual aspect of projects, especially animation and video production.

I took the Web and Graphic Design program because I want to work on projects and with software that create the “ohhh” factor.

The program has introduced me to many aspects of web and graphic design and has created a good starting point for my new career.

In the WEGD program there is a lot of time dedicated to becoming familiar with new software programs. Many projects are based on your own ideas and to be successful, one needs to decide on a project right away and start putting the time in because all projects take a lot of time. From my time in the program, I have discovered that there are two hidden meanings for software: soft(ly) wear (you out), and s’ware.

After graduation, I want to work with experienced professionals to learn better ways of using the software. The diploma will allow me to apply for a variety of junior positions.

Some of my favourite moments in the program happened in our Design Thinking and Visual Communications class as they were very enlightening. I am impressed with my colleague’s accomplishments.
