I was born in Alberta and spent the first 28 years of my life there. I moved to Prince George in the early 90’s and have loved raising my children here. Being an outdoors type person, it was a great place to experience life. Going back to school in my 50’s has been an adventure, but I have loved reinventing myself.
I was ready for a change in life, so I began thinking about what things I liked to do and how I could make it into a career. I also wanted something that was portable where I would not need to be tied to bricks and mortar. Web and Graphic Design was the perfect fit.
I feel I graduated with a wide range of skills and have had many tastes of different aspects of a web and graphic design career. The hard part is that it would be great to have had the time to learn a deeper skill set in many areas. Learning to learn has been the tool that will open doors and I have had a very positive experience in that regard. The instructors have been very supportive and I have enjoyed the varied personalities of the peers with which I have shared this journey.
After the program, I would like to work in a web and graphics environment part time. My primary desire is to create my own business. I ran my own business for 23 years and I see myself venturing down that path again.
Some of my favorite moments include my English class with Graham as it gave me an opportunity to explore who I was through writing. It ended up being a great journey.
