I am from Prince George, British Columbia. After taking an interest in art in high school, I enroled in the Fine Arts Program at the College of New Caledonia. After completing the Fine Arts program in 2015, I entered the college’s Web and Graphic Design program. I am completing my schooling at CNC in 2017 and plan to continue my studies at BCIT.
One reason I took this program is because I already had an interest in art and after taking the Fine Arts program, I realized I had an interest in Web and Graphic Design too.
The program has met the expectations I had for it. Taking this program has made me realize that I have an interest in digital design and 3D modeling. I will need further schooling for what I want to do, but this program provided me a base to expand upon.
The program has been difficult at times. There are lots of classes that have many assignments that require hours of work. In the moment it becomes very stressful, but you push yourself to finish them. In the end, I found it rewarding. Aside from the digital skills I have acquired, I have also developed my communication skills, time management skills, and interpersonal skills.
After the program, I would like to go into 3D modeling, art, and animation by taking further schooling at BCIT.
One of my favourite aspects of the program was the customization that each class allows. Being able to personalize assignments to your interests and goals allows you to plan for your future outside of the class.
